June 2021 - Pre-field Ministry Updates

Greetings,
Thank you for praying for our recent trip to Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Everything went extremely well and our itinerary went as planned, by the grace of God. We spent five days in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, attending the conference on international theological education, and this was truly a refreshing time for us. We were very much impressed by the number of theological educators from around the world who attended the conference as well as by the expertise of the speakers.

Our favorite topic was “Moving Beyond Lecture: Becoming a Creative Facilitator of Interactive Training” taught by Dr. John Taylor and Mr. Gill Thomas on Thursday and Friday. These brothers did a wonderful job providing us with several techniques and tools to help us become more effective teachers for both virtual and in-person settings. Ismael will be using some of these techniques to teach a doctoral course for a full week through Zoom later this month.

After the conference on Friday afternoon, we drove to New Jersey, where we stayed for ten days. While there we shared our burdens for our people with two mission-minded churches and had several meetings throughout the week. One of the churches gave a generous gift to the mission agency (ABWE International) for our ministry. We are thankful for the partnership and look forward to seeing how the Lord will use them in the future for His glory.

We are currently at 57 % of our required monthly support because of your continued prayers, generosity, and commitment to our ministry. Please continue to pray that the Lord will open other doors for us so that we might reach our goal and leave for the mission field by December.
