March 2021 - Pre-field Updates

Greetings,
My wife and I cannot believe it has been a month since you received our newsletter. Time flies. Right?

Well, we are extremely grateful that you are part of this exciting ministry endeavor and want to update you on our pre-field ministry progress.

In the first week of March, we ministered to a loving church in Sacramento, CA. We shared our burdens for our Haitian brothers and sisters living in the Dominican Republic (hereafter abbreviated as DR), and everything went well by God’s grace. The church was very receptive and will soon support the ministry. We give thanks to God for that.

Following our trip to California, I went to the DR to meet with several Haitian pastors and other key leaders. All of them unanimously got excited when I told them that the Lord will soon send my family and me there to train them. They all agreed that they need some sort of formal theological education and expressed their interest in being part of our Bible school (soon to be established).

Last weekend, we ministered to a mission-minded church in Griffin, GA. The saints were very friendly and loving. After the service, we partook a fellowship meal with them, giving us the opportunity to mingle with the people a little bit. We believe the Lord will allow them to partner with us very soon.

We started our deputation back in December and are currently at 52% of our required monthly support, thanks to our sending church and its members who gave at least 40% of the total. At such a rapid pace, we predict that God will provide the remaining support before the end of the year. If so, then we will leave the USA to go to the mission field around December to start working with our people at the beginning of next year.

Every day our hearts beat faster for our brothers and sisters living in the DR because they are being neglected. As you probably know, most of them are illegal, meaning that they cannot work or go to school. Many of them are living in some sort of slavery because of the animosity between Dominicans and Haitians. Please pray that the Lord might give us wisdom to know how to help our people for His glory. And if you have any prayer requests, please feel free to let us know so that we might pray for you as well.

Thanks again for your partnership! If you have not partnered with us, please feel free to do so. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil. 1:6, NASB).

We look forward to sharing more with you in the near future.

Sincerely,
The Dora family
