March 2024 - Ministry Updates with Pictures

Greetings,
Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord and commitment to His ministry in the Dominican Republic! He has been gracious to us, allowing us to serve Haitians and Dominicans alike. We thank Him for this privilege and want to highlight some aspects of what He has done through us recently.

Our church plant is going well. Besides preaching every Sunday, I teach a Bible study on “The Life of the Believer” on Wednesdays. It has been such a blessing to me as well as to the congregation. Through the preaching ministry, I always encourage the church members to remain steadfast in the Lord regardless of the circumstances.

Our Bible school is progressing also. I teach in two locations weekly and gather all the students in one location once a month. We are wrapping up an eight-week course entitled “A Survey of the Old Testament.” We will soon begin a new course—A Survey of the New Testament.

Three weeks ago, our friend Riley, an ABWE missionary, taught a modular course on the Pentateuch for our Bible students. His pastor preached for us on Sunday morning. During that week, two other missionary fellows, Matt and Lee, visited us with a team while they were touring the country to encourage ministry partners. We had a good time fellowshipping with them.

Our children’s school is thriving. Through the generosity of our sending church, God is allowing us to provide a quality education to these kids. We ask that you continually pray with us for their protection and well-being. We eagerly await their academic and spiritual growth to see how God will use them to impact the world.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, we are happy to inform you that we are at 93% of our required monthly support. We are grateful for your generous giving, without which our ministry would not be possible. May the Lord fulfill the “good work” He has begun in you “until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6).

Sincerely,
Ismael and the Dora family
