June 2022 - Ministry Updates

Greetings,
Thank you for your genuine prayers and financial commitment to ABWE on behalf of our ministry! Our commitment to you is to carry out the Great Commission to the Haitians living in the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti. We are happy to inform you that the Lord has done great things since we relocated to the DR two weeks ago.

After my pastoral ordination on May 15, my family and I drove to Miami, Florida, where we stayed for five days. On Friday, May 20, we flew to the DR and landed in Santiago around 5:15 pm. The next day, I participated in a commencement ceremony in which more than 30 students received their associate degrees in biblical studies. Pray that these men will continue to further their theological education to serve their local churches better.

On Sunday, May 21, the president of the Bible school and I had a meeting with a Dominican pastor whose church is in Puñal, the community in which we wanted to start our Haitian congregation. The Dominican pastor has two places of worship. He agreed to let us use one of them until we can buy a piece of land for our ministry. Also, he told us that he would like his church members to join us when we offer conferences and seminars for our people. We praise the Lord for this integration and hope it will be successful.

We evangelize in Puñal four days a week and have our worship service every Sunday at 6 pm. Last week, two young men accepted Christ as their Savior during our outreach ministry. The three people who accepted Christ during my previous visit are also active members of our church. That means that we have five new converts. Pray that we will start a discipleship class for them soon.

Dear brethren, God is working in the DR and has used you for such a time as this to support His work. Thank you for responding to His call to build His kingdom! We hope you will be able to visit us and our ministry someday. May the Lord accomplish that which He has begun in you “until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6).
